St Albans’s mayor judged a number of extended projects put together by pupils from a St Albans school last week.
The top six projects put together by pupils from Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School, Colney Heath Lane, focused on Aeronautical Engineering, Google, Painting Beaches, Animations, Sports and Space.
Councillor Geoff Harrison, Mayor of St Albans City and District, chose Phinehas Benjamin’s project on Aeronautical Engineering as the overall winner on Thursday, April 23.
He said: “I was very impressed by the students I met and the high standard of the Year 7 projects.
“The young people produced excellent work and it was an extremely hard task to choose the top three projects. The students also seemed very interested when I talked about the role of the Mayor, local democracy and the Magna Carta with its special place in St Albans’ history.”
