Villagers in Markyate held their annual potting party last week, planting 7,000 seedlings to bloom in time for the plant sale next month.
The Markyate Plant sale, now in it's eighteenth year, will be held on Saturday, May 23 from 10am, where there will be more than 50 plant varieties on sale.
Last year, the event which is free to attend, raised more than £7,000 for the Hospice of St Francis and organisers are hoping to do the same again this year.
Hanging baskets can be pre-ordered until Sunday, May 10. For more information call Ian Bradley on 01528 943133 or email ie.bradley@talktalk.net.
