A man was taken to hospital after a car crash in St Albans last night.
Emergency services raced to Watling Street, near the Park Street roundabout, after a two-vehicle collision just after 9.30pm.
Firefighters had to use cutting equipment to free a man in his seventies from a red Nissan Micra and he was taken to Watford General Hospital.
Sarah Spence, spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary, said the driver of the other vehicle- a silver Vauxhall Astra- left the scene after the collision.
The driver of the Nissan Micra is not thought to have any serious injuries, according to an ambulance representative.
Police are trying to trace the driver of the Vauxhall Astra and anyone who knows about this incident is asked to call 101.
