Sometimes I feel it’s all a big game! It would transfer well to a Monopoly board. Each player representing a different political party would be given his “money” of, say 500 voters. As they go around the board, they would encounter set–backs or advantages depending which party they were promoting e.g. a prominent leader would speak out of turn, or a major party tax adviser would get his sums wrong . Issues like the NHS and the Economy would be set stations on the board, and there’d be a pile of “Get out of jail” type questions on current topics !
This election is almost fun to look on from a distance, but we have to admit, it is a really complicated issue.
Unlike the delightful ice show at the Arena recently, with the Queen being evil through and through, and Snow White being as pure as her name, choosing the right party to run the country is not black and white.
Those who have a religious faith will probably be praying about it, but we must recognise that all political parties will have sincere praying followers.
So where does God come into all this? It is not like the scenario in the Bible’s Old Testament, where God actually told his people what to do.
I think God is smiling and enjoying the game too, and behind his smile is the thought -”When Britain is in real trouble, then they’ll come back to me”.
