Jewellery was stolen during a daytime burglary in St Albans.
Police said between 12.15pm and 4.30pm on Friday, April 10, a house was broken into in Cell Barnes Lane.
Whilst the occupants were out, the offender forced open a door at the rear of the property and stole items of jewellery.
Detective Constable Paul Cullinan is investigating and said: “This burglary occurred during the day and so it is possible there may have been people in the area at the time of the incident.
"If you saw anyone or anything suspicious around this time, please contact me as you may have vital information that could assist my investigation.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Cullinan via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference F1/15/1260.
