An ambulance service volunteer has been recognised with an award for her outstanding contribution to healthcare.
Pam Morris, who has been a member of The East of England Ambulance Service Trust’s user group (TUG) since 2009 was given an award of merit by the Mayor of Harpenden Mary Maynard at a special presentation ceremony in the Harpenden Council chambers on Wednesday, April 1.
Trust Locality Director for Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, Dave Fountain accompanied Pam to the ceremony and said afterwards: "Pam fully deserves this award for the amount of time she gives up in supporting Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire as well the air ambulance charity and the Harpenden senior’s forum.
"Pam is always available and so willing to help in any way she can. We are really grateful to her and the other TUG members and are fortunate to have such a close working team.
"Everyone from the west locality would like to congratulate Pam on this wonderful award."
Harpenden Council said in their citation: "Mrs Morris was nominated as she has been associated with the Harpenden Seniors Forum since the organisation was founded in 2008 as Vice Chairman and has worked tirelessly for the benefit of seniors in the town.
"Most recently Mrs Morris organised a series of Health and Wellbeing events at various locations throughout the town.
"In addition to her voluntary role with Harpenden Seniors Forum she volunteers for the Ambulance Trust User Group and the Air Ambulance Trust."
