A primary school in St Albans is waiting eagerly to see if they have hopped their way into the Guinness World Records book.
Alban City School, in Hatfield Road, attempted to get the largest number of people to hop on one leg simultaneously on Saturday.
The current record, which is held in Japan, is with 376 people all hopping after a count of three.
The event was held in the school playground on Saturday and 545 people from the community turned up to take part.
Louise Restell at the school said: "It went really well - so many people came to join in, and on that basis it was successful.
"We don't know if we have broken the world record yet but we have sent off a video, pictures and statements from people who were there so hopefully we will find out soon."
Alban City School has only been open for three years and the world record attempt is one way of trying to build links with the community.
Ms Restell added: "Each term we have been organising events for the community such as fundraisers and this time we tried to think of a way to get the children involved.
"Initially it started out as a sponsored hop and then we found out about this record and it just went from there.
"The atmosphere on the day was amazing. One of the dad's from the school was getting everyone in the spirit of things beforehand and afterwards there were a few activities for the children.
"I want to say a big thank you to everyone who came - we had no idea it was going to be so well supported and we look forward to telling everybody we have broken the world record."
Profits will go towards improving the playground.
