Schools from St Albans took part in the semi-finals of the National Young Mathematicians’ Awards.
The annual event, organised by tuition provider, Explore Learning and the NRICH Project at the University of Cambridge, attracts schools from all over the UK - with the top five teams in the country going through to the Grand Final to take place at the University of Cambridge on December 9.
Woodend School and Chaulden Juniors both took part in the event on Wednesday at Explore Learning in St Albans.
Lia Haskett, curriculum manager at Explore Learning, said: "The teams who have made it through to this year’s semi-finals have done a fantastic job and should be very proud.
"They would have beaten other teams in their regions and now it’s crunch time as they battle it out for a place in the Grand Final at the University of Cambridge."
