A florist at St Albans' Morrisons store has been named as a finalist in the supermarket's national Mastercraft competition.
Louise Mardel, who works at Morrisons in Hatfield Road, has been a florist for a number of years and will face tough competition from five other finalists competiting in her category which have been selected from 510 Morrisons stores.
The annual competition recognises and rewards Morrisons store colleagues who are experts in eight specialist trades, including butchers, bakers, fishmongers and wine advisors.
Ms Mardel said: "I'm so proud to have been shortlisted. Not many people realise that the flowers in store are prepared by myself and the team, and that we are fully qualified florists so it's great to achieve some recognition for this."
Mickey Greenhalgh, Morrisons head of craft skills, said: "We're proud of the traditional skills on show in our stores and we like to reward those specialists that really stand out. We have more skilled craftsmen and women on our counters than any other supermarket and Louise is a credit to her trade - we wish her the best of luck for the final."
The final will be staged at Morrisons headquarters in Yorkshire on Thursday, November 13.
