A new bus shelter has been officially opened in Harpenden. 

Harpenden town mayor, Councillor Mary Maynard, officially opened the new shelter Church Green last week.  

The project was jointly funded by Harpenden Town Council and Hertfordshire County Council.

Councillor Maynard said: "The town council has already received some lovely comments about the new bus shelter and how much better it looks and I am sure that the regular users of the bus from Church Green will appreciate it.  

"The bus shelter was carefully chosen to aesthetically fit in with its surroundings and we are delighted with the result."
