Dear Watch Member,
Between 1330hrs and 2330hrs on Friday 1st November offender[s] carried out a burlgary in the Fern Dells area of Hatfield.
Offender(s) gained entry through the unlocked UPVC front door using something to open the door from the inside.
Please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime number B2/13/3391 if you have any information relating to the burglary.
Please be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or persons loitering in the area.
Tips to prevent burglary at your property
Check all doors are locked and all windows, including those upstairs, are secure before you go out or go to bed
Do not leave car keys in a visible and accessible place when you go to bed
Double-lock any UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security featues [if you remove the key make sure you have a fire escape plan]
Use timer switches on lamps to give an impression somebody is at home
Secure your rear garden - lock any outbuildings [sheds and garages] shut and lock gates and keep garden tools locked away
