Firearms, ammunition and drugs were seized during a warrant in Welwyn Garden City this week.
Officers from the Tactical Team executed the warrant in Bessemer Road at around 6.30am on Tuesday (April 30). The property was searched and officers seized prohibited firearms, 103 rounds of rifle ammunition and suspected Cocaine.
Howard Jones, aged 54 and from Bessemer Road has been charged with: • Possession of a handgun • Possession of a rifle • Possession of rifle ammunition • Importation of 5 taser stun-guns • Importation of 7 pepper-gas sprays • Possession with Intent to Supply Class-A drugs x 3 Jones appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on May 1 and was remanded into custody.
PC Martin Sturgess, from the Tactical Team, based in Stevenage, said: “Firearms offences are a rarity in Hertfordshire and we will relentlessly and robustly pursue those criminals that commit this type of crime.”
