Last month the Press Gazette published year on year circulation figures for the UK’s regional newspapers. It published the ABC list of the country’s 450 local papers which showed a general decline. Locally, the St Albans & Harpenden Review showed a 0.8% increase with an average weekly circulation of 38,401. The Stevenage Comet and Stevenage Advertiser also bucked the downward trend with increases of 1.2% and 1.1% respectively. But the Welwyn Hatfield Times was down 4.6% with a reported circulation of 11,758. They are currently offering free papers and a range of promotions within the borough.
