Residents will have the chance to have their say on the erection of a statue adorning one of the key figures in the history of St Albans.
St Albans District Council are asking residents for feedback on plans to install a bench and statue in commemoration of Samuel Ryder, a notable former resident, which were passed in 2010.
The £150,000 project will celebrate the millionaire former packet seed magnate and golf enthusiast whose name adorns one of the world’s most famous sporting event, The Ryder Cup.
The statue and bench, which will be funded by the Samuel Ryder Foundation is due to be installed in St Peters Street and public consultations will go on until next month.
