Dear Sirs,
I read with great interest in the WHT that the Housing Minister Mark Prisk visited Hatfield Town Centre and I quote some of his comments: “I have come round to have a look.
“There are 27 different Portas Pilots and I wanted to see for myself, even though I’m in a neighbouring constituency, how Hatfield is looking at what its strengths are, what its challenges are, and how it can adapt.”
"Hatfield had some “super shops”, but action was needed on encouraging ‘pop up’ shops, new businesses and new market stallholders to use the area – and said part of that could include a reduction in business rates.
"It was good that local authorities, the University of Hertfordshire the police and the Welwyn Hatfield Times, among others, were behind efforts to rejuvenate the town centre."
What a shame that he didn't mention it was started by Councillors Archer and Sparks along with your good selves the Hatfield Review, but then I suppose the WHT wouldn't want to advertise an on-line rival.
Mark Prisk obviously has the same rose tinted spectacles that our own MP wears, Are these "Super Shops" the five Estate Agents, numerous Barbers/Hairdressers and Charity Shops this Town has been turned into by the Welwyn Garden City led Borough Council.
