Detectives investigating a suspected murder in Stevenage have found the body of a woman they believe to be 19 year old Amelia Arnold.
Searches have taken place in a wooded area of Hatfield this afternoon (November 11) and, although formal identification is yet to be carried out, it is believed they have found Amelia.
A 22 year old man from Stevenage and a 41 year old man from Bletchley remain in police custody at this time.
Detective Chief Inspector Tim Redfearn from the joint Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation.
He said: “Amelia’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time. They have requested that their privacy be respected whilst they come to terms with what’s happened over the past few days.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately by calling the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
