Creative undergraduate art students have seized the chance to curate their own show – featuring a selection of work by 50 of their classmates.
The ten young artists, from the University of Hertfordshire, were hand-picked from many applicants to put together the show, which is titled Talk Amongst Yourselves – Artworks in Conversation.
After six months of preparation, and workshops in curatorial skills from the University of Hertfordshire Galleries, the students are ready to launch their exhibition.
Based on the way in which young artists communicate, the showcase features paintings, drawings, sculptures and mixed media pieces reflecting the diversity of interest in the university’s fine art course.
This exhibition marks the first formal curatorial collaboration between UH Galleries and the School of Creative Arts.
University of Hertfordshire, Art and Design Gallery, College Lane, Hatfield, February 21 to February 28, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Saturday, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Details: 01707 281127, herts.ac.uk
