A middle-aged mum from St Albans will be taking to the stage at Glastonbury this summer.
Vicky Arlidge will perform her musical stand-up in the Cabaret Tent, on all three days of the festival.
Accompanying herself on piano and ukulele, Vicky’s style is often compared to Victoria Wood and she is hoping her cheeky songs such as Mum Can you Wipe My Bum will go down well with the mud-splattered crowd.
“I’ve never been to Glastonbury before,” she says, “so I’m going for the first time as a 43-year-old mother-of-two. Life really does begin at 40! It’ll be Dolly Parton, Oasis… and me. They’ll be on the Pyramid Stage, I’ll be in the first aid tent,“ she laughs.
But before that she will be returning to The Maltings Arts Theatre.
“I can’t wait to perform at The Maltings again,” says Vicky, who was nominated for the Funny Women Best Show Award following her Edinburgh début last year. “My local fans are just fabulous.”
She will be performing a new song Jiggy Bom Bom about elderly ladies trying their hand at Internet dating.
Maltings Arts Theatre, St Albans, June 13 and 14 and Glastonbury, June 27-29. Details: vickyarlidge.com
