St Albans stand-up Vicky Arlidge will be battling it out in the Musical Comedy Awards this weekend.
The middle-aged mum, who has been compared to Victoria Wood and is most famous for her song Mum Can You Wipe My Bum?, will be taking part in heat one of the competition which is organised by WeGotTickets and is now in its sixth year.
The mum-of-two performs comic songs on a keyboard and ukulele about her husband, life as a music teacher, lack of libido and hatred of Radio 5 Live.
She will go up against nine other acts at The Black Heart in Camden and says she is "looking forward to performing".
Over the years the awards have provided a launch pad to acts like Frisky and Mannish (2009 Finalists), Abandoman (2010 winners) and Jay Foreman (Best Newcomer 2009 and has toured with Dave Gorman).
This year's top 40 musical comedy acts have been selected from online entries and will now battle it out in front of an audience in the heats before the final at the Bloomsbury Theatre on April 25.
