HaHa Harpenden is the town’s newest stand-up comedy night, and proceeds from the opening night will be going towards Railway Children, the international children’s charity that fights for vulnerable children who live alone, at risk, on the streets.
Hosted by rapidly emerging comedian, actor and writer Lewis Charlesworth, this weekend’s line-up features Eric Lampaert, Andy Fury and others, all well-known on the comedy circuit from their performances with the likes of Sarah Millican and John Bishop.
French-born Eric Lampaert has been described as delightfully weird and went to Middlesex University. He was the winner of the Latitude Comedy Competition in 2010 and the Laughing Horse Big Comedy Competition in 2008. He’s also appeared on the small screen in shows on BBC2, BBC3, Channel 4, E4, ITV2, and HBO.
Andy Fury is also an award-winning comedian who enjoyed a successful preview of his show Andy Fury Loves Film, and who is now working on his follow-up show, which is on the theme of happiness, for which he has decided to spend a year doing things that will make him happy.
- HaHa Harpenden is at Harpenden Public Halls, Southdown Road, Harpenden on Saturday, June 1 at 7.30pm. Details: 01582 767525, harpendenpublichalls.co.uk
