London Colney moved within four points of South Midlands Premier Division leaders Hoddesdon Town after a 3-0 win at Colney Heath on Saturday.
The Blueboys made a fast start to the match and opened the scoring after 11 minutes. Jack Woods sent in a cross and Lee Armitt powered his header into the net.
It took just four minutes for the visitors to extend their lead when Woods shrugged off a couple of defenders before firing into the corner of the net.
Colney made it 3-0 just two minutes into the second half. Woods pulled the ball back for Armitt and he netted from close range for his 21st goal of the season.
There were further opportunities for the Blueboys and Armitt was denied a hat-trick when his effort was blocked.
The victory has closed the gap at the top after leaders Hoddesdon slipped up at Hertford Town.
London Colney travel to mid-table Cockfosters on Saturday as they bid to keep the pressure on the top two.
