Whilst our senior side, Hatfield Town, are currently battling to avoid relegation, the opposite is true for another town side - FC Town - who currently sit top of Division One in the WH Sunday League. They were formed by Nigel Upson last year and the team are now sweeping all before it.
After leading Hatfield Town Reserves to the Reserve Challenge Trophy - the first piece of silverware Hatfield Town have won in the Spartan South Midlands League - Nigel formed the new FC Town club, which is made up entirely of local players. He is assisted by his brother, Alan Upson, and Tony Tighe. The club remain unbeaten this season with impressive league statistics of: P11 W9 D2 L0 F46 A6. But they have also reached the Division One Cup Final where they play against Renz Rangers on 1st April at Welwyn Playing Fields. However, their greatest achievement is in reaching the Herts Intermediate County Cup Final, against AC Hertford, which is to be played on 22nd April at the County Ground, Letchworth. FC Town reached the prestigious final following a penalty shoot out in the Semi Finals against Lea Sports. Manager Nigel previously won the County Cup when he was the manager of de Havilland FC in 1998, and they remain the only Hatfield side to have ever won this competition.
Total record this season P23 W20 D2 L1 F90 A21
