St Albans Abbey is celebrating every time athletes from Great Britain win a gold medal in the Olympics by playing a familiar tune.
People will be able to hear the bells playing Vangelis’ Chariots of Fire outside the cathedral to mark the occasion.
Hayley Lewis, marketing officer at the cathedral: "Provided it is not too late, we will ring the bells every time and if not the next morning.
"It really is lovely and we rang them today to mark the cyclists winning gold last night. "We have had such a good reception and people seem to think it’s a great way to get in to the spirits of the games. "
