THE Labour party at St Albans District Council were celebrating following last night's election results after gaining the most seats.
The party doubled in size taking three seats from the Lib Dems and one from the Conservatives.
The Conservatives remain the largest party with 28 seats, followed by the Lib Dems with 19 and Labour now with eight.
The only Green party councillor Simon Grover held his seat in the St Peters ward and Independent Tony Swendell also held onto his seat on the council.
