A SCHOOL in St Albans has announced its expansion plans after purchasing land to provide new teaching space, sports pitches and parking.
St Albans School, in Abbey Gateway, which recently became the second All-Steinway school in the country after investing in the pianos, has revealed it has completed the purchase of Aquis Court in Fishpool Street, St Albans, currently occupied by KMPG.
The buildings, which will provide the school with an additional 15,600 square of floor space, are situated next to the Lower Orchard where the school’s new sports hall is being built.
Andrew Grant, headteacher, has said shortage of parking spaces will be allieviated by the new space and it will also replace the grass play area lost to the construction of the sports hall.
It is hoped a section of the sixth form will be moved into the main building as well it housing as new administrative areas.
