TEAMS from the Midlands descended on St Albans last weekend to compete for a place in the national ultimate Frisbee competition.
The local team, named Ultimate St Albans, was formed in October 2010 and hosted the one-day tournament at Beaumont School.
The teams from Leicester, Cambridge, Cheltenham, Nottingham, Leamington and St Albans all battled it out for one of the two places in the final.
There are now 346 ultimate Frisbee clubs in the UK, many of these at universities.
