THE man who suffered serious head injuries in a fall from a roof yesterday was working at a nudists' club in Park Street, the Review has learned.
A man fell from the roof of a building in The Spinney off Hazel Road, the premises of the Sun-Folk Club, which describes itself as naturist.
A Hazel Road resident told the Review: "I saw the air ambulance landing in the grounds and two police cars went past, so I went up there to have a look.
"The gate, which is usually closed, was open and I went in.
"The paramedics were dealing with a casualty on the ground for about three-quarters of an hour and then the helicopter left - presumably with the casualty.
"A paramedic told me the casualty had fallen off a roof and was very badly hurt.
"I don't think anybody lives there - I think the members were just tidying the place up over the weekend.
"The building is a kind of club-house. Everybody I saw was wearing clothes, but then it was a cold day yesterday."
A spokesman for the club said: "We have absolutely no comment to make."
