A quad bike rider has died after an accident in St Albans.
The man, who police have not revealed the identity of, was travelling north on Harpenden Road when he was in collision with a grey Renault Scenic.
Emergency services spent four hours at the scene but the rider of the quad bike, a 40-year-old man from Hatfield, was pronounced dead shortly after the 6pm accident yesterday.
The driver of the other car was not injured.
Ten police cars, three fire crews and the air ambulance all attended.
Investigating officer, PC Jackie Lister from the Road Policing Unit, said: “Sadly as a result of this collision a man has lost his life and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
“We are currently trying to piece together the circumstance of this incident and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision take place, or who saw the vehicles in the area before the incident, are asked to contact police as soon as possible.”
