Detectives are seeking witnesses and information following a burglary in St Albans.
It is believed that the burglary, which occurred in Avenue Road, took place at around 7.30pm on Wednesday, February 18.
Offender(s) forced open the rear patio doors to the property before searching an upstairs bedroom.
Nothing was taken but substantial damage was caused to the door.
Detective Constable Chris Fisher, from the Local Crime Unit, said: “Although nothing was taken, the homeowners have been left shaken by the burglary and understandably so.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed any suspicious activity to contact to me straight away.
"Any information, no matter how insignificant it might seem, could prove very helpful to our investigation.”
Anyone with information contact the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101, citing crime reference F1/15/596.
