A St Albans District councillor appeared in court and denied common assault today after an incident at a recycling centre in the city.
Conservative Councillor Salih Gaygusuz was arrested at Ronsons Way in Sandridge last month in connection with an alleged altercation with a man in his 40s.
Councillor Gaygusuz, of Southfield Way, remains on conditional bail following the hearing at St Albans Magistrates Court this morning.
His trial is due to take place on Friday, December 19.
