Tailbacks are going as a far back as St Albans after a lorry burst into flames on the M25 clockwise this morning.
The heavy goods vehicle caught fire on the hard shoulder between Junction 23 (South Mimms) and 24 (Potters Bar) during rush hour this morning.
There is congestion on the M25 as far back as Junction 21a.
Police say the road will be closed for “some time” and motorists can expect traffic delays in the area throughout the day.
People travelling anticlockwise are also warned to expect delays.
