Residents will be able to find out more about Harpenden library’s move to the High Street at a drop in session next week.
The current Vaughan Road library will close its doors on April 23 and will reopen in the former Argos building.
Staff will be on hand at the existing site to talk about the move between 2pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday, April 16.
Andrew Bignell, Head of Libraries, Culture and Learning for Hertfordshire County Council, said: "The time between closing and re-opening will enable us to transfer stock and services from one site to the other.
"After the move, the library will be in a central location and be more accessible to users. It will be on one level, offering greater flexibility and better use of space, and will have a fully accessible toilet for visitors. The library has something for everyone so come and see us soon."
Hertfordshire County Council granted planning permission for the move in October last year.
As well as library facilities, the new site will have youth facilities proved by Youth Connexions.
